| According to the Ohio EPA, the Upper Scioto River Watershed is primarily impaired by nutrient enrichment, sedimentation, and other habitat alterations. Similar to many of the other watersheds, the majority of the river miles are impacted by nutrient enrichment. Such severe river and stream impairments commonly result from human development, inadequate agricultural practices and land use changes in the surrounding area. | |
