Upper Olentangy River Watershed

Scenario 1 - Consequences of Watershed Growth Over Time

Scenario 1

Increased Urbanization with No Regulations

Although only one data point was available for analysis, since it appears at the northern portion of the watershed, the quality of the water at this point will directly affect the quality downstream. Water quality throughout the Upper Olentangy River watershed will steadily decrease over the next 50 years in the presence of increased urbanization with no mitigation or growth controls. Substantial degradation is apparent in each time frame. Currently, this portion of the Upper Olentangy River watershed is in very good condition. However, with continued increased urbanization without any regulations, this area approaches very poor condition within 30 years.
