Lower Olentangy River Watershed

Scenario 3 - Consequences of Watershed Growth Over Time

Scenario 3

Growth Controls

Growth controls in addition to mitigation efforts implemented in the Lower Olentangy River watershed succeed in maintaining near current water quality status of the most southern site until 30 years, but still does not significantly slow the degradation of the other two sites. In this scenario, additional growth regulations partially reduce the adverse affects of urbanization. Regardless of regulations, by 30 years, cumulative impacts are becoming evident. Overall, growth controls and mitigation efforts assist in maintaining water quality, but in this case, more stringent regulations may be necessary.
