Lower Olentangy River Watershed

Scenario 1 - Consequences of Watershed Growth Over Time

Scenario 1

Increased Urbanization with No Regulations

Water quality throughout the Lower Olentangy River watershed currently ranges from good to poor and will steadily decrease over the next 50 years in the presence of increased urbanization with no mitigation or growth controls. Substantial degradation is apparent within the first 10 years and all points sampled would be in very poor condition by within another 10-year time frame. With continued increased urbanization without any regulations, this area rapidly approaches very poor water quality.
