Lower Little Miami River Watershed

Scenario 3 - Consequences of Watershed Growth Over Time

Scenario 3

Growth Controls

Growth controls in addition to mitigation efforts implemented in the Lower Little Miami River watershed succeed in retaining the current water quality status of most sections in the watershed. Additional growth regulations significantly reduce the adverse affects of urbanization. The investigated areas of the watershed generally remain in their current very good-fair status for nearly 30 years. After 30 years, however, cumulative impacts are evident and increased regulations may be necessary. Overall, growth controls and mitigation efforts have greatly assisted in keeping additional degradation in check throughout much of the forecasted time frame.
