Lower Little Miami River Watershed

Scenario 1 - Consequences of Watershed Growth Over Time

Scenario 1

Increased Urbanization with No Regulations

Water quality throughout the Lower Little Miami River watershed will steadily decrease over the next 50 years in the presence of increased urbanization with no mitigation or growth controls. Substantial degradation is apparent in each time frame. Currently, the Lower Little Miami River watershed ranges from exceptional to fair condition. However, with continued increased urbanization without any regulations, the watershed quickly deteriorates over time. Investigated areas quickly approach good-poor condition after 20 years, and continue to decline to predominately very poor conditions by years 40 and 50.
