Lower Great Miami and Whitewater River Watershed

Scenario 1 - Consequences of Watershed Growth Over Time

Scenario 1

Increased Urbanization with No Regulations

Water quality throughout the Lower Great Miami and Whitewater River watershed will steadily decrease over the next 50 years in the presence of increased urbanization with no mitigation or growth controls. Substantial degradation is apparent in first two time periods. Currently, the watershed is in fair condition. However, with continued increased urbanization without any regulations, the watershed quickly deteriorates over time. After only 10 years, the sampled sites of the watershed are in poor condition. By year 20 they are already approaching very poor quality.
