Lower Great Miami and Whitewater River Watershed

Final Impact Forecasts

Comparison of End Results (After 50 Years)

By comparing the current status of the Lower Great Miami and Whitewater River watershed with the results of the three proposed scenarios at the end of 50 years, it is evident that although all scenarios will experience degradation, there are different outcomes. It is obvious that unregulated growth, and even growth with mitigation, provides no protection against water quality decline throughout the watershed. However, mitigation plus growth control measures are able to reduce the severity of the water quality decline. In this scenario, mitigation efforts in conjunction with growth controls affect both the rate and the degree of decline.
