Increased Urbanization with No Regulations
Water quality throughout the Big Walnut River watershed will significantly decrease over the next 50 years in the presence of increased urbanization with no mitigation or growth controls. Degradation is already apparent within the first 10 years and quickly deteriorates to very poor over time. Currently, the sampled sites are good to very good condition. However, with continued increased urbanization without any regulations, the watershed quickly deteriorates to very poor status. After only 20 years, both sampled sites of the watershed are already in very poor condition.
