Big Darby Creek Watershed

Scenario 1 - Consequences of Watershed Growth Over Time

Scenario 1

Increased Urbanization with No Regulations

Water quality throughout the Big Darby Creek watershed will steadily decrease over the next 50 years in the presence of increased urbanization with no mitigation or growth controls. Substantial degradation is apparent in each time frame. Currently, the Big Darby Creek watershed is in exceptional-very good condition. However, with continued increased urbanization without any regulations, the watershed quickly deteriorates over time. Although the investigated areas remain in good-fair condition after 20 years, they approach poor-very poor condition by year 30.
